NO NORSE?
A prevailing mental model
(paradigm) of colonial North America is that the American language either
developed from an unknown language or that the people had brought an Asian
Language with them over the Bering Strait.
A few authors have proposed
that the people of North America were speaking Old Norse when the English
invaded.
