When the English Invaded North America, they found Scandinavians.

Because the the English in the 17^th century wanted to possess the land, they decided to reset America to be a NEW WORLD.  

The English knew better. but they wrote that the people who were in the "OLD" WORLD spoke languages that were very old or came from Asia.

The NEW WORLD and the language myths have been taught to kids for four centuries.  The myths have hardened into solid mental models of North America.

But a careful analysis of the evidence reveals that the language came from Scandinavia.

Yet nearly no one questions the language assumptions that enable the myth of the NEW WORLD.

Our kids are being taught a myth.

.

Most parents insist the kids should be taught the truth.  But the parents, themselves, believe the myth is the truth.

A mental model, which is learned in school, stays in heads UNLESS it is replaced.

A mental model that should replace the NEEW WORLD language myth is 
“When the English Invaded, 
most Americans spoke NORSE” .

If every kid in school today were to learn “When the English invaded, 
most Americans spoke NORSE.”
then, the myth of American ancestors walking across the Bering Strait might be replaced.

With the knowledge that the Norse walked through eastern North America, kids can look up place names on maps to convince themselves that Scandinavians were in North America before the English invaded.
